Hair has been falling out like crazy! help!

okay.. so i saw a dermatologist who specializes with hair and he told me.. Because of my UTI my body was expierencing stress and because of that my hair was the first thing to be affected. It had been about 3 weeks ago since my uti attacked me he said it'd take up to 4 to 6 weeks to see the damage from the uti. Well he prescribed me a topical solution that will stop the alopecia from continuing, stop the hormones that are affecting the hair follicles ugh.. so much hair keeps falling out though.. haha to think of it when i bleached the front of my hair i had a lot of hair there... now i barely have strands..:( Im not bald but i can see my scalp.. but anyway he also gave me a zinc shampoo and another prescription shampoo, supposed to see hair again In like 6 months... Maybe i should trim my hair. I dont want to cause its so long.. i guess i have to. But I have a followup appt in Dec I pray this will stop soon. In the meantime im gonna stuff my face with Greens aka vitamin K!

AHAH!!! So i knew it was the antibiotic. I knew it. The dermatologist will turn down your ideas or concerns regarding the drugs you have taken without considering if you were allergic to it or if it gave you side effects. I decided to look into the antibiotic that i took Nitrofurantoin/Macrobid 100mcg 1 week twice a day. SO whenever i previously had uti's i had never experienced hair loos like this. EVER, until i took a bad antibiotic that is. I digged deeper and saw that i was Not the only one who is suffering/suffered this horrible situation. Anyway I know that most dermatologists will dismiss your findings because they believe that since they've studied dermatology that they know it All.. And that's where they will get you to buy their drugs and put it in your bodies.. making it depend on chemical substances.

well... I am still upset because i lost a lot of hair.. and i miss my hair.. but i will continue to eat more greens and take my vitamins and drink water.

Alopecia. Look it up. If it's caused by stress, and caught early on, it can be reversed.

Two things are possible here.
A. Wrong product on your scalp has caused the hair to deteriorate and fall out.
B. Worry over something has caused Alopecia. And continual worry is likely to see an increase in hair loss !
So a trip to your hairstylist and doctor are what you need to do !

ugh ...its really saddening o see it keep falling out like this.. I hate having to feel the hair on the floor or my arms.. I really do blame that stupid anti biotic. Cause all of my hair was fine until i took those meds. Fucking hell

Drink lots of green tea good for your hair skin and nails.and vitamin d. If you live next to a bunch of power lines who knows?

It could be a hormonal imbalance or vitamin deficiency so ask your doctor to do some blood tests to make sure.

It sounds like the bleach was too strong.

Is it breaking at all? Dried out?

See a skin specialist. Do take a multivitamin daily as a supplement

Don't drink a lot of green tea

Shave them off and regrow!
