If someone has a serious hereditary disorder, should they consider the ethics of having a child?

If the chances are more likely their children will inherit the disorder and it is one that has caused them suffering on their own lives, would it be cruel to plan to bring children into the world?

Depends what it is and how serious.. but the thing is.. most of the time we don't find out until after we have kids.. and some would say that person still has a life and life is very precious. Even with a serious disorder, or a potentially dangerous one, that life is often full of happy moments and love.. and often the disorder can be managed.
