well, supposing that adding an alternative to alcohol will make that more people will smoke weed and less will drink alcohol, the roads will be a safer place since alcohol affects reflexes and judgment way more than weed. as for second hand smoke, surprisingly, non smokers and weed smokers have the same incidence of lung cancer, this explained by the fact that although any smoke increases the chance of cancer, the main active ingredient in marijuana, THC is a anti-tumor agent, you can read about this on health Canada website.

@reflectingmonkey I'm far less concerned with lung cancer than Ii am with mental health problems. I'm also more concerned with drivers using weed [i]and[/i] alcohol than I am hopeful that they will use whatever's less dangerous instead of what's more.
