Has anyone ever been to a doctor of osteopathic medicine?

I am considering choosing one as my primary care physician, and just wondering if anyone can tell me about that specialty.

My main Dr is a DO. She had been an ER doc for many years. The main difference I see is she spends time, really listens, and interacts. She doesn't blow in and out of the room in 30 seconds like most. Our appointments generally run about an hour. And she does not act like she knows everything and I know nothing. We discuss and negotiate plans, even though we don't agree on everything.

Now, how much of this is because of her maturity, background, temperament, gender reference as opposed to her medical training, I have no way to separate out

@t3kkno Based on your experience with your doctor, and other answers, I think I will go with the DO as my primary. She is young, black, from New Jersey, and worked at Harvard Medical. She has a friendly smile in her photo, and I hope she is like your doctor!
