Do exercise bikes help with weightloss?

I was curious if exercising on a recumbent exercise bike can help get the weight off of my joints? As it is, very few things don't irritate my knees.

I would love to know.

Cycle bikes give you a better workout, but if you have knee problems, you better start with a recumbent bike. You’ll still burn calories, just not as much as on a cycle bike.

@marsbar What is a cycle bike? is that like a spin bike?

@darktippedrose They are bikes used in spin/cycle classes at the gym. So it’s to help simulate riding a bike outside. You can even use cycle shoes that clip onto the pedal. So instead of sitting back like on a recumbent bike, it’s like you’re on a real bike. Sometimes they’ll have a couple on the floor with other cardio equipment. Otherwise, they’re in a cycle room if they have cycle classes at your gym.
