Double standards much?

Why is being a fat women so socially shunned. But if you are a fat guy it's not so much of a big deal.

Because society saves most of its scorn for women. It always has. Women are expected to be fit and beautiful to attract a man in this society far more than a man is expected to be fit and handsome to attract a woman.
