@Cgr1994 they’re not meant to reach them. they’re meant to guide you to reach them, and give you the tools you need to deal with them

Antidepressants can take weeks to build to a therapeutic level. After that, dosage levels may have to be adjusted, and different meds work differently for people, so a few different kinds may have to be tried. It isn't work for a primary care doctor; you should see a psychiatrist.
I echo the suggestion of therapy. You are not terminally unique; you can find a therapist who meets your needs. Good luck.

If you can afford therapy it is quite effective. The two approaches are about equally effective treatments for depression. It's just usually easier and cheaper to medicate.
