Industrial farming is one of the worst crimes in history

I'm not fully vegan or vegetarian, but since I started eating more like one, I've seen many benefits in my body/health, and I found that I actually like Salads / Veggie Soups than meat food. I just had to find the right ingredients/foods. I still eat seafood / fish, and when I eat meat, I try to prefer those labeled organic, or from a well-known good Butcher (with their own farm).

For the sake of your health, avoid supermarket or buffet/canteen meats... and try to find organic foods instead.

Very good article, if you want to read:

There are many videos about this subject, but here is a good one where you can see how the animals live before you eat them.

Full of diseases, stress, dirty, etc... do you think this is healthy for you?

I've been vegan and vegetarian and it's been my experience that people really don't care to know what they're eating. Even when you tell them some of the horrors you've discovered it at first appears like they think you are lying. If someone publishes a book about the famously litigious McDonalds (amongst others) and it stays in print, you know it's not only true, but only the portion of what is going on that can't be disputed by lawyers. People have no argument against this logic and I think find it uncomfortable because in these cases, if you want to keep eating meat, it is much better to remain in ignorance.

@GlassDog no clue! Not worth my energy.

@BlueRain I've come to feel the same. Which is a bit of a shame for both of us.

@GlassDog agree to disagree.

@BlueRain Yeah, it's not worth it for either of us! :)

@GlassDog I eat meat and you don’t.

@BlueRain Oh, I've got no problem with people eating meat. Or even hunting. Humans are equipped to eat meat as well as other things. I just worry about the way we're producing meat these days, and also the methods for delivering it to people. We could do a lot better. Because I don't eat it, it largely doesn't affect me, but I do still care enough to worry about others who do.

@GlassDog I have visited farms and asked lots of questions. I don’t blame you but I have learned first hand the safety that takes place. But I’m sure there are those few!

@BlueRain Farming isn't a major problem either. I respect the care that the farmers still have for their livestock. In fact, I feel very sorry for them, given how they get the short end of the wedge with monopoly purchasing of meat, pushing their profit down ever further. One of the big concerns for me is how meat is slaughtered and mechanically recovered. For instance, because it's cheaper to irradiate the manure and leave it as part of the product, they will do that rather than clean it off. It is technically safe to eat irradiated manure but it wouldn't be my first choice of thing to put in my mouth.

@GlassDog ok. I’m not educated enough to answer you. Perhaps a farmer should.
GlassDog · 46-50, M
@BlueRain I think the farmers themselves might be surprised by what happens after the livestock leaves. One caveat I should give is that this practice was described in a book that was written in 2001 and I don't know if this process is still widespread, just that it was when the book was published.

I have also been to slaughter houses. I didn’t read, I experienced.
GlassDog · 46-50, M
@BlueRain I haven't been to slaughterhouses, but I do trust that McDonalds and their suppliers wouldn't allow a book to remain in print if the allegations could be challenged in any way.
