I can't swallow any food without my throat hurting. But at least I can drink water with no problem.

@hippyjoe1955 wow I didn't think it could get that bad. I give myself about another 2-3 days and it'll clear up. Last time I did have to go to urgent care because my tonsil got real big.

@AJMClassof18 Yeah of course back when mine were removed many of the antibiotics commonly used today were not available. The most common treatment was simple removal of the tonsils and adenoids. The only person in my family that kept hers was my mother.

@SW-User I'm on day two. I had the same thing happen last year but it was my right tonsil instead. The first time it happened is the same reason it happened again, my boyfriend got sick, and instead of me getting sick my tonsil ends up getting sore.

@SW-User yeah. I barely get sick as is so the only time I get sick is if someone else around me is sick and ends up giving it to me.
