How do I stop cold from getting bad?

Getting symptoms of a bad cold, I need to stop it from getting worse. I can't afford to get sick with all the work and exams. 🤢😫

Zinc and Vitamin C help. Lots of fluids to flush the germs out of your system. Sambucol (elderberry extract) is thought to help.

Depending on where you live, spending a couple of minutes in the cold may help. They're doing cryotherapy now, exposing cold-sufferers to extreme cold for two minutes. This, they say, first draws your blood into your core and then when you warm up, your blood, enriched by oxygen, etc., assisting your immune system returns to your extremities.

@Mamapolo2016 Thank you about the cryotherapy that was very informative, I will definetly try that.

I'm sorry. I thought I could stop mine from getting worse, but as my doctor told me, with lots of medication and resting in bed, it will take approximately a week and a half to run its course. Without all the meds, etc, it will take about ten days.

@Serenitree Ugh! I hope that doesn't happen to me, have so much going to get done this week and next. Thank you for your comment! :)
You CAN fool your cold with OTC meds. You'll still have a cold, but won't feel so bad. If you've got exams, be sure it's non-drowsy.

@Mamapolo2016 I've been using OTC meds. My cold is smarter than I am. It sees the meds coming.. hides in the dark, and then when I think I feel better, it rips my throat out with a deep harsh cough, ending with a sneeze that blows the top of my head off. Dang, that hurts. I've discovered the name for those sharp shooting headaches. Ice pick headaches. How appropriate.

There's no magic trick. Water, healthy food, and rest. Your body needs the energy to fight the cold.

I would start drinking a lot of lemon or lime water, hot green tea with honey, chicken broth with crushed garlic.

@Bean17 Doing that because I feel thirsty but water tastes like poop lol So yeah.
