The flu epidemic is becoming so severe in the US that one school district has cancelled all classes until Tuesday of next week. Your tales of the flu?

@SW-User The reason this flu is so scary is because it is attacking young healthy adults in addition to teens and young children.

@SW-User It really is horrible. Viruses are like little animals that keep mutating and changing so that all of our previous defenses are useless. The Spanish flu in 1908-1910 killed 10 million people worldwide, and the people who are manufacturing flu vaccines are using inert flu virus from whatever was rampant LAST year, or even the year before. Healthy young people are dying, and there is no real defense except isolation.

I've stayed in so I don't get others sick. I'm so ready to get out and about. I'm so glad I don't have kids. I feel for those parents. They've closed some schools here in Oregon.

@SW-User I heard about that on the news. It's the smartest thing anyone has done, closing down schools....and I can't imagine the grief of losing a child...let alone losing a child to something we have regarded as not too serious in past years.
