Does anyone on here struggle with hashimotos thyroidosis? I haven't gone full hypothyroid yet. (Levels are still normal) I just have the auto immune thing and want to know if it can be reversed before I'm full blown Hypo. Any tips? What do you do? Supplements?

Idk except that you will need to get your T3 and T4 tested as well as the tsh. Even if your doctor doesn't want to bother, it's necessary to have regular blood tests to see how you are doing with thyroid medicine. I've got a thyroid problem and it's probably Graves, which tends to cause up-and-down thyroid. I hope you get decent medical treatment.

Omg yeah I'm gonna see a specialist too so he can check other hormone levels.....I have a theory that if I regulate my other hormones my body will stop attacking my thyroid

@SW-User Yes.

@SW-User You probably need to strengthen your immune system too, but be careful with supplements that are not designed for your condition.

Its an autoimmune disorder, supplements will not help. According to a quick search, it can be genetic, and it has a steong hormonal component. If anything happened to increase those levels, that would make sense. Try seeing a doctor to see what medications/treatments they would recommend.

@Dontknowme well I was hoping someone else would share what they do if they have it. Some people find improvements with diet some with medication

Yeah, and I feel for you. Im just very wary of medical advice, especially in this day and age where a meaningful number of people still think you shouldnt vaccinate. Im not a doctor, I can only tell you what Ive read (on actual sources, not these health nut sites) and say you should talk to one. The problem with asking everybody, is you will get people who dont know what they are talking about, and thats dangerous. Its your health, your body, and you deserve better.

In these matters, no advice or opinion is more valid than the professionals.

my Mom was nuts most of my life and misdiagnosed as bi polar
turns out it was thyroid cancer ,,after they removed it she was a different woman
So I do know they have drugs that can keep chemicals right in your body ,,
You need to talk all that over with your doctor
that little gland does a lot ,and I have seen the effects of it being out of whack ,,
I hope your problem is manageable (I have an auto immune disease eating my spine so I get that too ,and knew 2 people with Lupus ,not something I would wish on my worst enemy )
Wish you well ,,please make your doctor go over your options
many people can give you advice ,but its like my back
lots of people have bad back ,but not all of our problems are the same

@SW-User Its been going on a long time and I know now what i can and can't do
from how I sit up ,or turn ,cough ,I don't take things for granted that most people do .
and thanks to pain meds my pain is bearable ,
I hope thing go well for you ,I wish you well and improved health .
After seeing what my Mom went through I tell people all the time don't take the thyroid so lightly ,it does a whole lot more then just control weight .
I am a blessed man ,people who care ,a good doctor ,and I can do what I want and nothing when I want ,and I have lived a full life
It could be worse ,I could be crippled again ,for now at least I can still walk
thank you for your kindness

Nah, no supplements.

You should be already on medications meant for it.

I want to try the natural approach so I can stop my body from attacking my thyroid before I have to be on for the rest of my life @Miram

@SW-User

There is no scientific evidence of successful treatments for managing your case other than synthetic T4 orthyroxine (levothyroxine) in their various medical labels.

I wouldn't call supplements a natural treatment.

You can minimize complication by doing as your doctor advises you , the sooner the better. Organ damage is a common prognosis without treatment.
