Hot then cold, waking in a pool of sweat and shivering. Illness sucks.

Yeah, yeah, not a question. But not permanent enough a situation to warrant a story.

I commiserate. I'm just getting over a major illness, and my main gripe is that post- surgical itching sucks. But I'm on the mend, so that's good. :-D馃榿馃榿馃榿

@PeanutsauntieP1982 don't I know that. What kind of surgery?
PeanutsauntieP198241-45, F
I had to have an emergency appendectomy. It was supposed to be laparoscopic, but when the doctor opened me up, I was such a mess that he had no choice but to go to a laparotomy and really open me up. Apparently my appendix had burst a couple of days before I had surgery.

Yikes. Usually by the time you hit adulthood you assume the appendix is gonna be fine.

In my family, our appendixes give out in our thirties. Both my parents had appendectomies in their thirties, my sister lost hers in her thirties, and my brother just turned 30 (damn, we're getting old!), so I expect in the next five years he'll have to have his removed too. (Everyone except me has lost theirs at 33, I am 35)

That is remarkably consistent. Eerily so.

@ViciDraco that's what the nurses and doctors said too.
