How to deal with setbacks?

Two steps forward, a big step back. I have managed to lose weight and make my kidney function better which had made my doctors and my family very happy. However on last weekend I had a episode of rapid heart rate which meant a hospital stay for monitoring and finding a medication.

I finally sat down and read the inserts from the medicines to see what the side effects are and warnings. The medications chosen have two effects that will have me make some changes. First; I'm on a blood thinner so I have to be careful with sharp objects and second; I have to watch sunlight or sunlamps as my skin could burn more easily on it. So without a sun lamp this winter I wonder how my SAD is going to be. And I have to watch exercise until I can get a follow up with my cardiologist.

Needless to say, Thanksgiving was quite different this year. Thankful that things were not too serious but still enough to be a wake up call.
