Best ideas for getting in shape?

I finally decided to get off my ass and try to lose a little weight, get more in shape. I am starting with simple like increasing steps... did 17,000 today! Calorie counting is obvious but painful. What motivates you?

Doctor told me that I am in danger of getting kidney stones if I don't cut down on oxalates and purines. That leaves me romaine lettuce and cooked (but not raw) kale. I think I might lose some weight, but I don't know if I'll have any energy for exercise.

@Serenitree A vibration platform is really good for when you don't feel like exercising, it gets your blood circulating. I started walking again after using it for 3 days (10 minutes a day). Lemon juice or raw unfiltered apple cider vinegar is good for dissolving kidney stones and crystals....you can also drink corn-silk tea.

@cherokeepatti thanks. I have heard of the cornsilk tea. Also the vinegar, but when I tried the vinegar, I couldn't keep it down. Five minutes later I had violent projectile vomiting. Ugh!!!!

@Serenitree I wasn't until this summer and I got one...they had been over $2000 when I first heard of them nearly a decade ago, the price has come way down and I got one for nearly a tenth of that cost.

@cherokeepatti I may be straightened around in a year or do. Got myself in a hole It will take at least a year to dig myself out.
