Best ideas for getting in shape?

I finally decided to get off my ass and try to lose a little weight, get more in shape. I am starting with simple like increasing steps... did 17,000 today! Calorie counting is obvious but painful. What motivates you?

I bought a vibration platform and use that almost every day, sometimes more than one time a day. Easy to use and it increases circulation, didn't lose much weight this summer but have lost sizes. Which surprised me.
