I'm sick of being nervous every time I get gas when its dark out.

Well do you have a car remote and on the remote you might have a panic button . keep your keys with you and if anything happens press the panic also try to stick with gas station very well lite and have camera's outside.
@updown2020 Panic buttons make jackers nervous, they tend to shoot then run.
