What's the current level of support for circumcision in the USA?

As a European I don't understand why so many American men are circumcised, considering America's Christian background.
Almost no man has a circumcised penis where I live.

A friend was circumcised as an adult.. He and his Wife were married for quite some time while he was intact and due to a tear in his foreskin he was circumcised.. He now long term circumcised says there was zero difference in sex afterwards and his Wife says she specifically prefers hm circumcised... I was circumcised as an infant. We are long term married - 33 - nearly 34 years and we make love.. each and every day and have done so for many years.. No problem what so ever the ONLY concession we make is that as she is quite petite I put a tiny dab of lubricant on my glans and down the shaft to make insertion comfortable (this is after foreplay and providing her with oral sex until she has experienced orgasm). No problems what so ever.. Oh SHE is the one who insists upon making love every day... She very much enjoys this..
