@UpForItNow We always KNEW that the Queen had her Son's Circumcised, she posted that Charles was circumcised by Rabbi Dr. Snowman, the Chief Mohel of London on the day of his circumcision... but for DECADES it was erroneously presumed that the Princess of Wales had strenuously prevented circumcising her Son's.. and this innuendo was trumpeted as FACT and justification by intact activists NOT to circumcise.. Had the fact of their parents choosing to circumcise their Sons been made public as was the case with the Queen... many many more of your countrymen would have also been circumcised emulating the royal family... This absence of disclosure then now disclosed highlights the class distinction in the UK - where circumcision is reserved ONLY for royalty and the upper classes.. a secret mark of distinction highlighting RANK and position... This practice originated with Queen Victoria who believed that like Jews the Royal Family were chosen divinely to serve and as such were subject to the same biblical requirement for male circumcision.

@pdqsailor1 Fascinating, you live and learn. Growing up as UK born in Australia, I somehow associated circumcision with the working class as some common default option, hence its ultimate attraction to me, not wishing to feel sexually abnormal. Later on I somehow fetishised actress Pamela Anderson as pro-circumcision, after seeing her sex tape with Tommy Lee, lustfully blowing his cut member. After, I realised she's publicly anti-circ!

@UpForItNow Understand that for me, being born to Jewish parents my circumcision was biblically mandated... Circumcision is one of 613 commandments in the Torah. Observant Jews view these obligations quite literally as we have been chosen to serve G-d...This particular obligation is essentially universal among all Jews regardless of their level of religious observance... Queen Victoria decided that this particular commandment (probably others as well) also extended to her family given that she viewed her position as Monarch to be divinely sanctioned. This has carried forward to those born to the Royal Family and presumably those who marry into the Royal Family (the upper classes)... I don't know where you might have presumed that it was a sign of lower class position.. In terms of American entertainers - they are a poor substitute for Royalty in American society.. Circumcision became commonplace in America during the affluence experienced in the Post WWII baby boom... In the US military Circumcision was "encouraged", or forced upon intact servicemen to prevent them from being out of commission for service.. They also were conscious of sexually transmitted diseases being more easily contracted and transmitted by those who retained foreskins.. which harbour bacteria... In any event those factors were responsible for the high rate of US infant circumcision which still remains significant to this day... In polls taken a significant proportion of Women express a preference for circumcised men as sexual partners.... All I know is my Wife sure keeps my dance card filled... and has done so for many years...

@pdqsailor1 Interesting also, it occurred to me as an adolescent that Diana, and UK socialite friend Jemima Khan, were being exotic and racy by having trysts with presumably circumcised lovers, respectively Dodi and Imran, before my later realising they were already steeped in the practice by dint of their respective, white cultures.

@UpForItNow King Charles for many years counted as his friend, the Late chief Rabbi Z'L" Johnathan Sacks, they were both born in 1948 and had an extraordinarily close friendship...Charles speaking at the Rabbi's retirement dinner, later Eulogizing his friend...and forging a new relationship with his successor. Reportedly both Charles and the future Rabbi Sacks were both circumcised by Snowman, yet another mark of distinction and shared experience.. members so to speak of the same club. I can well understand that upper class Women of the UK would come to value, expect and appreciate that the men they consider for sexual engagement are circumcised... The price so to speak to qualify for the admission to the rank of who is eligible and who is ineligible...
