@SW-User thanks! I’m going to try this. It’s been hard lately bc all he wants to talk about is politics, which always causes him to speak louder with more anger. It’s hard to get any time with him outside my jobs so I need to find short and concise topics to bring up that instantly change his mood/behavior.

I had shit parents.
But if I had normal ones, knowing that their departure is soon, I'd make sure they have as much fun as they can. Drugs, women, travel...you name it.

🍿👀 Good question, I'll have to check out tomorrow (about to head to bed now).
My parents don't act the same as they used to, and it's tough at times. Especially when I feel like they have sorta created a relationship of debate between themselves, which is alright, as long as neither gets pissed off, but that has happened more as they get older.and grumpier.

@Viper well it’s not just politics...it’s everything. Politics was just an example bc that’s the one thing that sets him over the edge. He gets upset over anything and projects it onto the rest of us. It’s part of the mood swings. This morning he was perfectly pleasant, but I expect the other mood to come out after supper. It’s just hard to deal with so I’m asking if anyone has tips for when they dealt with this with their aging parent(s). If I engage, I become part of the argument. If I stay quiet and distant, he’ll find me and start something. I can’t win either way these days.

Tbh I would tell them to stick it if they were out of line
@deadgerbil I do and he just yells back that I’m not listening. It’s all or nothing with this guy. He’s almost crazy.

Patiently stay silent and focus on work.

Give it a week and tell the results. Meanwhile don't take stress, enjoy good life. :)

What did he do?

Do they have any diseases?
@passingby8 I’m waiting on confirmation of either Dementia, Alzheimer’s or Parkinson’s. I took him to the neurologist bc he fell last week and told them about all this moody stuff and I’m supposed to hear back soon.
