The Wisdom That We Seek

Why does it take a lifetime
To gain the wisdom that we seek
We spend most of our life so foolishly
Full of arrogance and pride
Thinking nothing can really hurt us
Our youth and strength on our side
It is only when we are broken
When we don't have the strength
When we must yield to others
When the world changes so much
We need need help to navigate it
When we spend time in hospitals
When our mortality is closer to us
When death visits us too often
When are bodies betray us
Minds becoming more easily confused
We thought we'd have more time
But it all went so fast
Leaving us looking at an old person in the mirror
A wiser soul now than in our youth
As the passions have cooled
Knowing we won't win every argument
Wanting to surround ourself with peace rather than just excitement
Taking time to look at the world instead of just being busy in it
Realizing that kindness is a much precious commodity than intelligence will ever be

Yeah🫤

What blows me out is the fact that as little children we love the simple things: butterflies, the feel of the waves tickling our feet, laughing till it hurts.

Then we become worldly aware and get sucked into wanting to have everything we are told we 'need' from it.

Only to realize - we had it right in the first place🤷‍♀

heres a poem i wrote

Hello my friends and haters too
Just a write from me to you

No matter if u like me or not
I have friends this I got

Instead of hate let's make peace
And start to love and make hate cease

I send my love from my heart, take a lil or a big part

It's so easy just to do
Love u all from me to you
