Despite the carnage that RFK Jr., Dr. Oz, and the rest are making out of the governmental recommendations on preventive medicine, most ethical doctors follow the guidelines of the various physician groups for their specialties. The concept of generalized annual physicals was eliminated long ago. For those of us old enough to remember, at one time the annual physical was recommended for all ages and in the adult years frequently involved a hospital stay for access to the technology. And insurers like the Blues actually covered the cost!!! The periodicity for various exams now varies based on epidemiolocal studies that make sense and most call for longer spans between than a year (and a few for more frequent).
