As I was told years ago, it's better than the alternative.
I have already lived longer than any other man on my father's side of the family and if I live another 6 years, I'll be the oldest man in my family tree ever....and I definitely think that would be better than the alternative.

@DragonFruit My father’s outlived everyone in his immediate family, his brothers and all of his cousins. He has two nephews and a niece, and there are a couple of cousins’ children.
