Losing a mainsail on the high seas is always, er, interesting.
I was once sailing in the Bahamas when the clevis pin on the windward shroud broke.

In the moment is very important and probably one of the hardest things to hold on too.

I think you are referring to social security. That program won't be around when you reach 90. If you had good investments and a solid career your retirement should be when you choose

@jetpack Having always done contract work, I've never known job security. I saw it quickly disappearing 30 years ago.
