Visiting the gynaecologist to get an update

A follow-up visit after a miscarriage is usually scheduled for 2 to 6 weeks afterward. Its main purpose is to confirm that your body is physically healing and that all pregnancy tissue has passed.

It is also a time to discuss future pregnancy plans and mental health support.
What to Expect at Your Appointment
Physical Exam:
Your doctor may perform a pelvic exam to check your cervix and uterus.
Confirmation Tests:
They will likely ask you to take a pregnancy test to ensure your hormone levels (hCG) are going down. In some cases, a follow-up ultrasound may be done to ensure no tissue remains.
Discussion of Results:
If any tissue was sent to the lab, your provider will review the results with you.Future Planning: You can discuss how long to wait before trying to conceive again, and ask about contraception if you need it.
Emotional Support:
Miscarriage can take a severe emotional toll. Your doctor should check on your mental health and can provide referrals to counseling or local support groups.

When to Seek Care Sooner
Do not wait for your scheduled follow-up if you experience any of the following symptoms, as they can be signs of infection or retained tissue:
Very heavy bleeding (soaking through more than two large pads per hour for two hours straight)
Fever higher than 100°F (37.7°C) or chills
Severe or worsening abdominal pain
Foul-smelling vaginal discharge
Self-Care While You Wait
While you are recovering,
it is important to reduce the risk of infection by using sanitary pads instead of tampons. Avoid sexual intercourse, using vaginal products, or swimming until the bleeding has fully stopped and you feel comfortable.

There’s a little more involved with such a late time miscarriage that I suffered, the psychological trauma takes time to recover from where the physical trauma has subsided somewhat.

The gynaecologist checked my body as well as my mind, he is one of the leading doctors in the hospital near our home that I chose.

This morning I went for my appointment accompanied by my daughter, and we are now walking in the mall near my offices, where I have an appointment with the board of directors this afternoon.

hopefully, they study the fetus for what may have caused its demise. It is important to look for inheritable problems.
