Operation date

I've had a date for my op to remove my gallbladder! I've been refered by the NHS to have it done at a local private hospital next month.
Im off on my hols this weekend and i've had to get a disclaimer on my insurance I cant claim against any issue that occurs because of my gallstones while I'm away......to get cover would have cost £1000!!!
I've just had a call from them now and i've been booked in for 3 appointments between now and the op! Thankfully, 2 fall during half term so I dont have to book more time off!! The third is my pre-op, so can't avoid that one. I'll need to take at least 3 weeks off after the op, so hopefully......i will be able to go in for the last week of term to say goodbye to my class. I'll be sad if I can't but clearly have to put my health first!!
Eeeek!!

@OldBrit thanks my friend. When did you have yrs removed?? X

I've had that done. It was a laparoscopic procedure, so they go in through your belly button and ONE tiny incision halfway up your tummy. After your gall bladder is removed, you will NOT be able to drink alcoholic beverages without terrible gastric issues.

@4meAndyou according to my consultant, i should be able to!!
But....its not an issue. I rarely drink anyway.lol.
How long ago did you have yrs done? X

Hope it all goes well for you. 🙏
Had mine out around 10 years ago now, it was such a relief to get it done.
Take your time getting back on your feet afterwards, you can't rush things.
