I had to go get some x-rays today. My doctor thinks I either have some more damage in my discs of my spine or severe nerve damage.

I have been in hella pain for almost two months now. It started out as muscle pain in my right pec and shoulder. She thought it could be rotator cuff damage. Then, over these last couple months, it's spread to both my pecs, both shoulders, my neck, and my fucking back. I'm hardly sleeping because of the pain at night. She gave me some steroids to take for two weeks and a muscle relaxer too. The thing is, I start a new job Monday. I don't want to have to sit there dealing with new shit, in pain, for ten hours a day, five days a week . If it turns out I need to have an MRI, I don't have insurance until June first. Not to mention that I'm scared out of my mind just thinking about the possibility of back surgery or something worse. I don't need this shit in my life right now.

The good news is that spine surgery in the upper spine has a high chance of a great outcome.
SleepingWithGhosts · 46-50, M
@RosaMarie That's good to know! I hope I don't have to have it at all, but just in case, that gives me a glimmer of hope.

@SleepingWithGhosts If you have true disc damage, only so much that PT can do. If you have weight to lose, that's going to help to. So will fixing any posture issues.

Is your work very physical?

Also, have you tried a chiropractor? I know people are sometimes skeptical, but a good one can be helpful...
SleepingWithGhosts · 46-50, M
@fun4us2b No, I'm a fleet manager at a trucking company, I don't do too much work physically. And no, I haven't checked out a chiropractor. Maybe I should.
