I prefer female doctors

I prefer women doctors because I feel they are more caring and thorough. I have all female doctors. My primary, my urologist, my dermatologist are all female and I trust and respect them with my care. They make me feel very comfortable and I don’t get embarrassed. I had prostate cancer and my female urologist has been taking care of my medical needs for 10 years now. For all exams I’m nude from waist down and never have I been embarrassed. My dermatologist I’ve had for 6 years and am naked in her office, she makes me feel calm and is very professional. Another reason I like female doctors is I don’t like males touching me.

I generally prefer female physicians and other providers as well. As others have noted, they tend to listen far better and communicate better. They don't seem to have picked up that I am God attitude that so many MD's come out of medical school and residencies with. (At least U.S. medical schools. Small sample size, but I have found that foreign trained male MD's -- such as my oncologist -- don't have as much of that God complex.) My original primary was male and very macho. When he retired he recommended a woman MD; said she was, in his opinion, outstanding and the best internist still accepting patients. I found she was, but then she retired on me. I found another woman Internist, until I relocated at which time I took a woman Nurse Practitioner as my primary until she retired. I have had both male and female urologists, and preferred the female. And now have another female urologist. And the surgeon who took out part of my colon was an outstanding woman surgeon. Her and her robot.
