I Know I'm Alarmist And Can Get Paranoid

I have a doctor's appointment today, which usually isn't any big deal. But with this one, with the symptoms I have, I have a feeling the doctor is going to be looking for some underlying health issue that is not going to have a good outcome.

After tests, I'll be relieved if I have something that can easily be corrected. If it's something that can't, there's nothing I can do but just deal with it.

I'm so glad for my anti-anxiety meds.

I'M SO GLAD I WENT TO THE DOCTOR.

I was showing several symptoms of what could have been ascites. That concerned me so much.

Ascites is a condition that happens when fluid collects in spaces in the abdomen. It can set the stage for an infection in the abdomen. Fluid may also move into the chest and surround the lungs which makes it hard to breathe. That happened one night.

The most common cause of ascites is cirrhosis of the liver (I don't drink alcohol, but my liver could still be scarred from infection).

It can also result from some types of cancer, like ovarian or bladder cancer, heart conditions (I was told I had CHF), dialysis, low protein levels, and infection. Other causes of ascites are infections like tuberculosis, pancreatitis and certain kidney problems.

This was the basis of my concern, and my anxiety.

The doctor told me I don't have ascites, and I am very relieved. I did have some blood drawn so he could look at some markers.

Thank you ALL so much for your caring and support.
You are my family.

Love To You All ❤ 🫂 🙏

What great news! I am so happy to hear this. But now you know, you kind of have a heads up to take care of your liver and everything. Eating right really pays off and that's what I'm doing. Take your ginger root and that helps clean out everything. Great for digestion too and be sure and take your digestive enzymes and probiotics. Your body will thank you.
@LadyGrace Thank you. I really am VERY relieved. And yes, I need to watch my diet and continue with my digestive enzymes and probiotics, and other health-promoting foods and supplements.

This was a good wake-up call. And I don't want to relive it.
@PhoenixPhail I am super happy for you.
