In 2023 I had a fever and boils on the back of my neck which I picked at. They got infected and it spread. I left it alone to heal but it was slow, and ooozed pus. I should have seen a doctor. I was working from home so stayed inside.
Eventually I started losing leg strength for some reason, and started collapsing. I called an ambulance. They tested the neck infection and said I had flesh eating bacteria. They started cutting it away. I had a CT and MRI and they said it had spread to my vertebrae. My hands and feet grew numb. They also saw two small strokes! They pumped me full of antibiotics. I threw up a lot.
They cut more away then filled the gap with a black wound sponge in plastic hooked up to a wound vacuum, that drained fluids from my wound. Then they cut skin from my leg, and sewed it on the gap.
I could not walk or even stand, then was able to stand and move a little with a walker, then more. I went to a rehab center with exercise equipment and slowly built strength and balance. I went home and used a walker for a month, with my parents' help. Now it sits unused in the closet, thankfully. I have been able to walk now for over two years.
I also learned I had diabetes which had numbed my feet and could have made the infection worse. So that is my focus now.

I remember you wrote that you had a bump on your nose. Could that be related to your bloody nose?
