@Wiseacre Yes me. Lol
Wiseacre · F
@Perry1968 you’re ur own doctor?
Perry1968 · M
@Wiseacre Well. Instead of pushing drugs on to myself for long term issues mentally i have instead partcipated in finding root cause issues that require no anti depressants. Although ive been on anti depressants for many many years unwittingly. They should actually only be used to treat symptoms for the short term until you start to work on root cause/s of why you are stuck in that rutt. Anti depressants are short term. Or should be because you eventually plateaux at any dose. And then what? You are effectively back to square on. Stuck on a addictive and " in the main" hard drugs to pull away from and you feel no better (if not worse) than when you first stepped in to express deep depression. So yes i suppose iam my own doctor in that respect as i try to fight root causes. I havnt as yet found anyone in the medical world here looking for those root causes so you have to educate yourself. On yourself. If a person likes anti depressants and they help then great. I have had many anti depressants and anti psychotics that do help very short term. The medical world has been very good to me in other ways. Saved my life quite literally physically. But mentally its educating yourself the day you really can look back and try to pick out the parts of your individual life where things went wrong. No pill can fix that forever.
Physicians for freedom!

It's amazing that in 2025 we live in the dark ages when it comes to illness.

Even sometimes forced by law to poison and kill our bodies or the bodies of our children.

All deemed as "right". Any variation from the norm labelled as "extremist" or "harmful".

Please keep posting.

@Magicianzini luckily, the dark ages are getting lighter. We have now doctors who treat old age like a disease, bc it is the mother of killer diseases like Alzheimer’s, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and cancer. Doctors need to be proactive, not wait til a diagnosis. Medical 3.0 is here, but sadly very expensive and difficult to follow. But that will change.
@Wiseacre Your faith is admirable.

As long as someone follows standard approaches, and doesn't ignore science and research, anyone can follow anything they desire. They need to understand that they could be making their medical care useless at worst.

@Wiseacre i am not going to argue, it isn't the way I or my colleagues worked.
Wiseacre · F
@samueltyler2 u’re in forensics, right? Didn’t u spend most of ur days in court? Here in Canada, patients only get a few minutes with the docs. So if there is no medical explanation for chronic symptoms, then u must find a functional doctor.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@Wiseacre no not at all. I spent most of my day taking care of patients, helping provide for public health. When I saw patients, i spent whatever time was needed. I made sure they knew enough about their illness that they were involved in their care, decisions about treatment plans, etc. as I said, I don't care what you call a physician, if they are fully trained in medicine and provide treatment appropriate for a condition, that is fine. But if someone offers to avoid standard, recognized therapy then I would cautiously ignore that advice.

Having said that, i was, still am, open to learn new therapies and theories, and if they are proven effective, sound and safe, then i incorporated them into my practice.

Sadly true, but it will change in the future as docs will be more proactive in treatments.@MellyMel22
