I hate triggers so bad

I have to get an ultrasound on my ovaries at the beginning of December and they called me today to tell me what I need to do to prepare for it and the second they asked if I’ve ever had a pelvic ultrasound my heart sank… I know it’s a simple medical procedure and it doesn’t hurt but it’s one of my triggers due to abuse I went through as a kid and while I know it’s important I do this ultrasound I’m so nervous and dreading it 😥

I’m sorry you were hurt as a child, first and foremost. Secondly, any type of medical/health anxiety sucks. What I like to do is give myself some sort of reward after healthcare related things that cause me anxiety - could be something as simple as a little treat or sometimes I’ll give myself a little shopping trip afterwards. It sort of something to look forward to and somewhat helps with the anxiety, and it’s a nice way to tell yourself “hey, you did it and I’m proud of you”.
