Life can be a real bitch

And also wonderful and beautiful. I'm grateful for every second on this amazing planet.

But for the past few years my sister's health is declining. She has such labile diabetes in which any amount of insulin is too much and crashes her sugars dangerously FAST. So for years it's been too high because she can't take the real amount she needs. No doctor can figure it out. And now she's developed horrible neuropathy in her feet, the nerves dying, swollen feet, everything clogged from high sugar.

And others on her neuropathy forum also say it's just awful, no doctor truly helps them and there's no good treatment that lessen numbness. They say they want to die, and my sister has said it too. Walking becoming very difficult and endless numbness or pain constantly.

I get so helpless and feel panicked. She's the BEST person you'll meet. She's kind, giving, funny and patient. To watch someone so great decline so much is heart wrenching. There's not nearly enough research to help neuropathy patients. They are SUFFERING severely.
One woman said out of cancer she had and neuropathy, neuropathy is worse. I really need a miracle for my sister, my best friend. 😢💜

So sorry.

----------
I have numb toes and fear it will never get better.

The other day I slipped on a wet floor after a shower, and fell on my arse. I had to crawl out to the carpeted hall and pull myself up while clutching a doorknob. It is hard to stand up from the floor with my neuropathy, and I worried I would slip right back down.

I am always so careful these days to stay standing at all times and never sit on the ground. It is so hard to get up!

I should put some bath mats down!

@JoyfulSilence Oh yes those truly come in handy ..bath mats. I have a shower mat in the shower, and little rugs outside of shower too.

Long ago I had some maroon ones and used them, then the color bled and stained the (plastic?) bathroom floor tile! So I tossed them and did not replace them.

Then my parents visited and they said I needed some so I bought some just for them and brought them out each time they came, LOL!

Yet when they came while I was in the hospital, I guess they never found them so my mom made her own. She sewed towels together, LOL! I still have it!
