He's not as upset about it now

So last week Joel got a continuous glucose monitor. He wasn't very happy about it. He's not a fan of doctors to begin with. But it really saved us this weekend. Saturday we were going out and he drank what we thought was a regular drink but it was sugar free. He ate a very light breakfast because we were going out for lunch.

Being on the bike, in the sun really made his blood sugar drop fast, but he had it hooked to his watch and we stopped at a gas station to get him a drink with sugar. If he didn't have that monitor he might not of felt any symptoms until it was really bad. That would of been horrible if it happened while he was driving us. I'm so glad he got it.

@Justmeraeagain I think he's starting to see that. Because he wouldn't of noticed it dropping while we were on the bike. So I'm glad he got one

@Cigarguy exercise will either make your sugar go up or down depending on how rigorously riding and when you had last eaten.
Diabetes is a pain because it's such a combination of things that can make it go up or down.

@Justmeraeagain he's not diabetic he has hyperglycemia. His blood drops to fast.

@Cigarguy oh, I see, yeah I don't know a lot about hypoglycemia.
I did have low blood sugars a couple times but I don't have constant hypoglycemia.
I think you're supposed to eat a lot of little meals is that correct?

@Justmeraeagain yes and he did but we didn't realize the drink was sugar free. So that's why it dropped so fast

@Justmeraeagain he usually drinks green tea and honey during the week but we didn't have any on our trip. I'll have to bring some next time
