Develop a strong set of core muscles so that your internal organs have so support to help hold them in place. If you have have muscles in that area and a good diet it’s possible return things possibly better than before
Good Luck

I have diverticulosis too. I pretty much stick to eating the same stuff. I find that roasted sweet potatoes and tuna are the easiest on me. I’ve had to cut a lot of stuff out of my diet.

Maybe we could brainstorm together if you’re interested

Also, when you have the diverticulitis flareups, you’re supposed to have no to low fibre but most other days when you’re not going through the diverticulitis flareup you’re supposed to have high fibre diet

@FoxyQueen that’s good news you’ll have the colonoscopy.

As far as food is concerned what do you normally eat/drink? Feel free to PM me anytime.

@Jenny1234 I try to keep a high fiber diet through the work week and I give myself a break on the weekends. I usually try to add spinach or kale to what I make for work and I bake my own bread with chickpea flour. I really try to remain fiber conscious.

@FoxyQueen it’s really hard to get enough fibre through food. You should take psyllium husk every day. It’s just like Metamucil which you could also take

Have you tried peppermint oil capsules? It can give some immediate relief and then give more significant relief within about 4 to 6 weeks. My mother has had very good result in combination with a careful diet. I never hear her complain anymore.

@faery i was considering a marshmallow tea since I have access to actual mashmallow root.

@FoxyQueen Could be soothing for sure. Slippery Elm is another great soother.

Sorry you’re having to deal with that. I’ve had some kind of IBS-related issues since I was a kid. It doesn’t really matter what I eat either, it’s just always been a problem.
FoxyQueen · 51-55, F
@Nate931 I'm sorry to hear that.

I had 2 episodes, i swore I would never go through it again. I make sure I eat at least 25 grams of dietary fiber every day!
