Very anxious today

I have a doctor’s appointment today and my chest won’t stop tightening. I keep telling myself it’s routine, but last night I dove into my blood work online and then absolutely spiraled — thank you, internet, for giving me answers and nightmares at 2 a.m. Technology is amazing for access, but it also makes every result feel gigantic when you Google it alone.

I wish someone could come with me. I’m not looking forward to sitting in that waiting room by myself, trying to breathe while my mind runs through worst-case scenarios. It’s hard because I’m so used to being alone that asking to be held or to have someone drive me feels impossible — like there’s no one I can really lean on in these moments.

Have you tried box breathing?

Four seconds inhaling fully.
Four seconds hold.
Four seconds exhaling fully.
Four seconds hold.

Repeat, and keep it up for 5 or 10 minutes, as needed.

I've found it very effective for reducing stress.

It’s routine everything will be okay just take a deep breath and tell yourself everything is okay
Wish someone was there with you could hold your hand.
