Arthritis pain

Has anyone had a severe arthritis flare up come out of nowhere? Two months ago I woke up and couldn’t walk. I’ve been to the doctor, had cortisone shots, physical therapy and some prescription meds that didn’t do anything. It wasn’t a narcotic. I asked for something stronger and was told no. Is this my new “normal”? Any tips or suggestions would be most appreciated. I’m 69.

Bone spurs can be debilitating. They can also be surgically removed. Living in a part of the country with a lot of rain won't help the arthritis, either.

A lot of times patients who are crippled by their arthritis move to states with dry weather, like Arizona.

@4meAndyou moving would not be an option for me. I guess the next step would be replacement. But I’m putting that off as long as possible. I don’t have anyone to come stay and help while I recover. I have a son, but he stays so busy with work and other obligations.

@Mbingh01 If you have decent insurance, they send you to a rehabilitation facility where you can stay while you are recovering.

@4meAndyou I have Humana gold plus with an advantage plan. I will have to look into that. Thanks for your kindness.
