If you are allergic to Red 40, you might find yourself unable to eat a bunch of fruit and vegetables... I know I am - and the itching you described closely matches my anaphylaxis.

If you have any hayfever (or allergy) medication with cetirizine in it, take one pill and see if that relieves your symptoms.

@HootyTheNightOwl No, the only thing I've ever had a bad allergic reaction to is penicillin. Thank you so much for all the info, I appreciate it.

@HootyTheNightOwl Oh my! So it's the dye on the tylenol tablets then....

@Tumbleweed Could be... It could also be heat or bug bites, too. I notice that sun looks quite bright and you're wearing shorts... possibly with no socks on, too.

I wouldn't like to call it on just this one experience that I have seen with my own eyes.

@Tumbleweed Definitely try an allergy pill and see if it helps.

Don't take anymore Tylenol with Red 40 in it, though... and be careful of other products with red 40 in. If you eliminate it from your diet and it never happens again, then it's red 40.
