The hospital beds I had were horrible to get myself out of. I had several major surgeries on the same day. After 4 days of that I pointed to the bed and told the head nurse that I was not going to get back in it. I sleep in the recliner chair and there was a sofa that folded out to a bed that would have been OK too. Ridiculous when it takes 10-15 minutes to maneuver off of a bed.
@cherokeepatti I was like that after my second bout of blood clots in my lungs in 2016, I said nope, I'm sleeping in the recliner.

@NativePortlander1970 It was bad enough to motivate to walk a lot more. They released me after 5 days instead of the 8 days that my surgeon said I’d be in the hospital for.
@cherokeepatti They release people far too quickly anymore, my own stepsister should have stayed longer after her thyroid cancer surgery last tuesday, she was released on friday, and today my mothernhad to call the paramedics because her trache tube plugged and my mother was freaking out, despite her being the one taught how to care for it, she claimed my stepsister was denied home nursing help, which I call horseshit, my mother has a messian/martyr complex where SHE HAS to be the ONE to take care of everyone because she is the ONLY competent one, today proved her own incompetency.

@NativePortlander1970 When they removed my adrenal gland year before last it was robotic surgery which heals quicker. They had me pinned down to my bed and not able to get up. They removed everything the next day and sent me home about an hour and a half later. Made sure I could walk OK and use the bathroom by myself first. I went to the hospital early in the morning and waited in pre-surgery and they prepped me etc. Took me to surgery about noon and I was released 24 hours later.
@cherokeepatti Unreal

@NativePortlander1970 I was ready to go home. Only had to get out of that bed one time then and the nurse helped me. Each time I get home the nurse from my insurance called and asked me if I thought I had been released too soon and I told her no. They gave me a paper at the hospital that said according to Medicare if I thought I was being released too soon I could object and be kept longer.
