Learning to "read the body"

Throughout the years of being a natural health consultant ive taken many classes from many practitioners. One of my favorite has been "reading the body" from an herbalist. It goes over all the markings and patterns in the skin, face, nails, etc etc and what conditions with which they might conincide.

Anyone else go through this type of training?

I would love a system where our bodies are read once in 3 years and our condition recorded for analysis. Holistic healing is a great science but not supported by governments run by pharmaceutical companies. I was amazed by the way practitioners can read the entire body just by reading the pulse. As children we must all learn to study the pulse of others so we can heal one another efficiently.

@in10RjFox Ayurveda and TCM both use the pulse, among other aspects

@Lloorrii2 yes.. acupuncture therapists have to learn pulse reading. The way they diagnose each internal organ is simply amazing.

I went to see an acupuncturist ( AKA the Chinese Lady) because my pain was resolving slower than expected, and my Doctor recommended her. She located the sore areas, did her needles and jars, and when I went to the front, there were several bags of things with instructions written in English waiting for me. I started telling her I didn't know what all that was or why she gave it to me. She said, "You pay and you take!" So I did as she asked. It worked. Now I see her once a month because it is so relaxing and I feel better.

Yes. We call that a head to toe assessment in nursing.

Did you know that humans have stripes on our backs? We can't normally see them but some other animals can.
Lloorrii2 · 51-55, F
@Diotrephes is it like a uv thing?

@Lloorrii2
is it like a uv thing?

The stripes are supposed be be visible under a uv light. It would be great if someone can verify that claim.

Any books on the subject you recommend ?
Lloorrii2 · 51-55, F
@Just4fun the lady who taught it is in the process of compiling a book. Bits and pieces are sprinkled throughout Ayurvedic and Traditional Chinese Medicine texts.

@Lloorrii2 if you hear of something please share

Just the regular first aid assessments.

By markings and patterns, do you mean wrinkles and things like palmar flexion creases?
Lloorrii2 · 51-55, F
@Northwest kind of...but more like ridges on the fingernails, dark under eye circles, wrinkles coming from the top lip...etc
Northwest · M
@Lloorrii2 Abnormal fingernail ridges probably mean one's diet is not optimal or exposure to toxins, and under eye circles can also indicate bad diet, drinking, smoking, lack of deep sleep and stress.
Lloorrii2 · 51-55, F
@Northwest its a bit more than that, but ok
acpguy · C
It often does not work. For example put your thumbs up in Iran and see what response you get or shake hands using your right hand.
Lloorrii2 · 51-55, F
@acpguy not even the same thing
