I think you need to look it up rather than ask an anonymous random public.
(She says answering anyway)

Words such as "Gaslighting" and "triggering" etc...have become popular terms - and hence overused...often for the wrong things.

From the little i know about psych health, you might want to look up "confabulation" - i think it might apply to the issues you are dealing with:

confabulation :

And yes, people can accidentally gaslight people, an example happend at work:
- A coworker told off a new employee about an incident.
Thru their abrupt manner, the new employee took it to heart that all their work ethic was being complained about. They felt they werent working hard enough.
- the truth of the matter was, one person was grumpy and the other was insecure.

In a way, being gaslit is as much about the awareness of the recipient as it is the 'gaslighter'.
It can be done very intentionally with manipulation behind it, or it can be done ignorantly, not realsiing the effects ones words has on the recipient.

And yes, someone can gaslight themselves, either thru ignorance, emotional avoidance or addiction, or conditining. (Ie: believing one is worthless or undeserving).

It can also become addictive as it can be a way to protect ones ego - like an habitual liar, or denial etc....or even part of Dunning krugar syndrome where they fully believe what they are saying, but in actuality isnt true.
