Two days in hospital and finally home.

Had surgery on Monday evening to remove a mass under my left ear to lower jaw.
Op. delayed by 14 months so it was considerably larger than Surgeon anticipated.

Finally home and exhausted.
And as I type this I can feel the effects of the painkillers wearing off.

Going to be a tough couple of weeks recovery i think.

Given the delay I assume it was not cancer?

@deadgerbil Cancer cells present but not in great numbers.
MRI prior to op so they'll 'wait and see'

@Picklebobble2 freaking yikes

@deadgerbil Yep. It's a sobering thought realizing you can just shrug something off anymore.

@Picklebobble2 my biggest fear would be having those cells migrate elsewhere esp with that delay

@deadgerbil Oh I'm not fearful of it.

I read the stuff on these pages and realise I've been pretty lucky in terms of physical ailments I've had to endure during my life.

Never broken an arm or leg.
No injuries to organs via accident or misadventure.
A brain that functions pretty well at an age where my Grandfather and Dad weren't so lucky.
