Another SVT episode and in the hospital

At 12:15am my heart started racing and it woke me up. I had to go up to the ER here because my heart rate was staying at 185-205.

They gave me meds to get my heart rate back down but they made me stay over night. I am so tired and I barely slept at all because they put me in the room by the Nurse’s desk and I could hear them talking all night long 😭.

I am waiting to see the doctor and find out if he’s going to discharge me. I am getting so tired of this, just get me to a cardiologist already.

Haven't they come up with a diagnosis/why/treatment for these SVT events?

@Ontheroad I haven’t seen a cardiologist yet. I am in a beta blocker but the dose isn’t high enough but it was making my vision blurry among some other side effects.

He’s switched me to another type of medication but I can’t remember the name. I didn’t sleep at all last night in the hospital. When I get my medication from the Pharmacy tomorrow when it opens because he faxed the prescription there I will see what it is.

He thinks I will need a heart ablation but we don’t know why this is happening yet.

@iamonfire696 yeah, they need to nail that down... why no cardiologist? Did he say an SVT Ablation or one of the other half dozen heart related ablations?

@Ontheroad The doctor on call is thinking I need an ablation to correct this but he’s just a GP. The hospital I go to just has a doctor who is on call for emergencies. If I drove to the city where there is a hospital that has a cardiologist they may have me seen in the ER but it’s 45 minutes away and I don’t feel comfortable driving on the highway even as a passenger when my heart is going at 200 beats per minute, I feel short of breath, light headed and a heaviness in my chest.

I haven’t gotten an appointment with the cardiologist yet. People are having heart attacks and are higher priority than I am so I have had to wait. He’s going to get me in faster though because I can’t wait much longer.

@iamonfire696 yeah, they really need to nail down the type of ablation before surgery, and that's going to take a cardiologist.

@Ontheroad Yes they will. The Nurse asked me if I had Afib before and I said I have been having SVT episodes. I was so tired I forgot to ask the doctor if I had Atrial Fibrillation too when they did the EKG.

l couldn’t even remember the name of the medication he switched me too but I will find out when I go get it this morning.
