Is grounding good

What do you think of grounding or walking barefoot good for you and your feet

There's no benefit to it. First, to avoid injury, you have to be barefoot all the time. I knew a guy in college who never wore shoes, and he could put cigarettes out on the soles of his feet. So I'm sure he could have walked over broken glass without getting injured. But I could do the same thing wearing shoes. Any argument that it connects you to the energy of the earth is unsubstantiated woo.

Another advantage to wearing shoes is that when I do go barefoot, like on a lawn, I can really feel it. I'm sure my acquaintance wouldn't have felt any difference between grass and concrete with the calluses he must have had.

@LeopoldBloom Nonsense. I am not barefoot outside in the winter, it's too cold in Norway for that. But I hardly ever have any problems with the surfaces I walk on when it warms up. Once every year or two I might get a small cut but that's about it. Pavements are not actually covered in broken glass all the time everywhere you know.
@ninalanyon I just don't get the point. If you're barefoot enough to develop calluses, you're not going to feel the surface as much as someone who is only barefoot occasionally. I like the feel of grass on my bare feet but if I'm on pavement I might as well be wearing shoes.

@LeopoldBloom I personally enjoy walking barefoot on the grass if it's not dead that grass hurts more then hot pavement

@LeopoldBloom But I don't get calluses, just a slight thickening of the sole. I enjoy feeling the different textures of different paving slabs, marble floors, warm tarmac after rain, etc

@ninalanyon cool marble floors or any cool surface are the best
@ninalanyon I'm fine with the occasional barefoot experience.

@LeopoldBloom such as

@LeopoldBloom Occasional is quite a different experience, especially if the surface is in any way challenging. Going barefoot all the time lets you develop a different gait and a greater appreciation for different surfaces.

@ninalanyon walking barefoot.feeels.dofferent your walking changes because of how you step and lift your foot Everytime to take a step it's the same even in socks I remember it feeling weird when I would take my shoes off and i would be walking differently amd it fwlt.different to run as well . Felt weird to me.but only because I felt so light on my feet
@Dracula5555 Occasionally walking on grass or other soft surfaces.
