There's no reliable evidence that detox foot pads work. Detox pads change color due to the wood vinegar in them, which reacts when exposed to moisture and warmth. It will change color even when exposed to steam or tap water. The color of the pad changes to brown or black on its exposure to warmth and sweat from the feet.
If it doesn't work on the feet, it's not going to work anywhere else.

The best anyone can hope for from this kind of remedy is that they won't do any harm and that some of them smell nice.

I'd be surprised if there is any evidence that anything marketed as detox has an effect. The whole idea is ludicrous. The best anyone can hope for from this kind of remedy is that they won't do any harm and that some of them smell nice.
Detox for what?
