Doctors holding health for ransom

My doctor told me that I need to take my meds every day for the rest of my life, and he at first gave me three refills on my prescriptions. He later reduced it to two, then one, and now zero. If I don't see him every three months I don't get the meds I supposedly need. I think I'll try going without and see if my health deteriorates any. I don't like his forcing me into seeing him more and more often to get what he says I definitely need.

Are you sure it's not changes to your insurance policy? They typically declare the amount of refills possible.

Is this a controlled medication? The best I've ever done is 90 days, and that was like heaven. I've been moved back to 30-day requirements, but it's wholly my insurance plan doing it.

If it's your doctor's office, ask why the change. Could be they want to monitor you in person or think patients with unlimited meds don't keep appointments (they don't). There could be a medical reason no one explained to you. Ask, and I'm sure they'll be happy to talk with you. If not, consider a new doctor's office. Good luck.
