I HATE confrontation..help

I need to speak up to a chiropractor...shes been great so far in helping adjusting my jaw to be realigned. I clench at night, so last year it became misaligned with horrible symptoms, vertigo, fatigue... she began also doing adjustments to my back and neck. Im not sure Id be getting that done with a cranio -doc, if they realigned me. They use a splint type tool, like a guard. But the chiropractor was closer to me and a bit less money so went there.
The other day I had severe back pain from the tool they use on back. Lasted nearly two days. Thats never occurred. I would like to halt back treatments..I want mainly jaw focus. My back is aligned im sure, more than when I began last year. I dont think its vital to my jaw treatments to also do neck and back, but I feel they will say I should still do it. I get all nervous when disagreements begin. How can I be up front ?

The only thing that is going to help your jaw is a TMJ splint. Chiropractors can only treat the muscle symptoms with heat , cold, or stim. You clench and grind every night at about 2500 psi, and it will only get worse (symptoms) until you get a nightguard / splint from someone that knows what they are doing . Doesnt have to be a specialist to treat tmj. The splint prevents you from pinching your discs in your jaw joints and creates an ideal plane of occlusion for your lower jaw to move along. That will relieve the muscle stiffness and vertigo. Trust me. Been there

I’m impressed with your knowledge. @TexChik

@TexChik Yes a splint is optimal but it was more money than chiropractor..it was hundreds just for one visit alone. She has been gently shifting jaw back into place with a tool that moves the bone minusculey each time, so vertigo h as s decreased over time. But I feel they will say Back should still get treatment, when im pretty sure it wouldnt be with the treatment specialists you refer to. Its just tge jaw focus.

@Coralmist
Every night when you sleep you clench and grind and reinjure the joint and cause the muscle tightness. The chiropractor cant do a thing about that. You are going to spend the money anyway, spend it on what works

do you have their email address
Coralmist · 41-45, F
@BlueVeins This did run through my mind.. I think Ill do this. Last time I emailed though about one thing, they didnt reply and I still had to discuss🙁

@Coralmist yeah this might be one of those things that you have to be tough and just tank it ✊
Are you overthinking???

At the end of the day, you are paying them for a service and you are entitled to the service that you pay for, regardless of whether they like it or not.

Trying to deal with what they might or might not say is a stress that you don't need. All you need to say is that you are not benefitting from the extra services and you don't wish to continue with it.

@HootyTheNightOwl I think I will email this, because my face gets flush when asking something ugh. Thats true its my body, and ill still be paying. Ty friend. 🌺
@Coralmist Maybe it will also help you to print a copy of the email, too, then you can show them the copy in the office if they play the "We didn't get your email" game again.

Yeah, and it's not fair that you should pay twice for the same service.

Financially is how you expect to be paying, not physically in terms of the pain that you suffered from last time.

I only allow certain people to touch a certain area of my back because its possible to put me on the floor if they touch it in a certain way, not knowing what they're doing. It takes a lot of trust for me to get to that point with anyone.

Right now, the only person I trust is my man. I know that he hasn't touched my back yet, but I also know that he doesn't want to hurt me and he will learn the right way to do it pretty quickly.
Coralmist · 41-45, F
@HootyTheNightOwl Well what I mean is they will still get my jaw treatment payment, so it shouldnt be yoo big a deal to halt the back treatments. Last time they didnt say they didnt get my email (on another issue), they just never replied, so i had to bring it up, and get nervous lol. They said they got it but that hand adjustments are best (Vs. Tool adjustment, which I wanted as its less force) and that I mustve been Googling. 🙁
Try to remember the doctor needs you just as much. Without the right feedback they could hurt you instead. So it is in everyone's interests to have open communication. Better communication better treatment. Also ask questions like how your back benefits your jaw and such.

@canusernamebemyusername I think Ill email them...yes giving feedback is important. I just know they may say you still need or should do back alignment🥺

Right now I've got pains in my right foot that flares up when I walk. Took cherry juice for that and a sharp.pain that comes and goes behind my left knee when I sit. God only know what's going to hurt when I lie down?

Just say “no.” It’s your body and your money. Obviously use tact, but you have to put your foot down.
Zonuss · 41-45, M

Coralmist · 41-45, F
