Occasionally my feet swell, but all the quack doctors just shrug their shoulders and say they don't know why. They say it's simply edema and leave it at that without making an effort to find the cause. I can't even begin to tell you the stories of all the problems I have with doctors in my life.

I don't even have a family doctor at the moment because the last one complained I was 5 minutes late and refused to accept my apology. She also called me a liar when I told her my dermatologist violated HIPAA rules by inviting in an unauthorized person to watch a full body exam.

She wasn't an employee or a nursing student, she was merely a friend of the doctor I found out after the exam.

I told them I need my high blood pressure medication refilled or I could die, and the receptionist said, "Oh well, then you'll die". smh

I have even worse stories of my experiences with the VA health care, or in better words lack thereof. I haven't been to those idiots in over 6 years.

@karysma The only thing I do is try to stay off salty foods and junk food.
Also, it seems when I binge drink tends to cause my feet, ankles, and legs to swell.

I went to a heart doctor. The first doctor was toxic and complained about me being on disability and asked if I was gay. I dropped him immediately and refuse to pay that bill.
I'm not gay btw, but what if I was? What's that got to do with heart problems?

My new heart doctor said I have unrepairable heart damage from a previous heart attack from an unknown date, and that may be the cause. 'May be', but who knows?
I try not to let it bother me.

I wish your stepdad the best and hope he can do better than me finding a qualified and caring physician.
