Sometimes, those strangers become friends...first online then a bit more and hopefully, in daily life eventually.
I get what you mean though. Sometimes, we put our hearts into caring about people we don't really know at all... and yes, it can mean liking or not liking.
I've learned to let go and to not get too attached. I still hold the possibility that maybe a couple could be met in daily life. I try to be more realistic now.
BUT.... the flip side is that I met people online who filled my world with laughter, new things to see and hear... and friendship that touched the heart... I cared a lot and I don't regret any of it. One guy lived in Hawaii with his wife and that was an amazing friendship, until he died.
Maybe it's not so great to always guard ourselves too much either. ♥️

@SW-User I’m really sorry about your friend that died. For me, it’s been stressful trying to keep an online friend around after getting close. It hasn’t been worth it. I know I have many wonderful friends here that are supportive but I can’t invest too much in people because they eventually drift away then it becomes sad. Also, I’ve dealt with people that have loathed me and accused me of being cruel without knowing me. You can’t judge people by what they post. I’m not a monster online so I wish people would stop harassing innocent members here. They take things too seriously on here. If you dislike a person just block and move on. Leave people alone because you don’t know what they are going through. It’s cruel to label them harshly. That’s not kind at all. They think they’re right. People that do that have serious issues.

And many times those you care so much about are not who you think they are in your mind. And there is that to consider.

@NoGamesTolerated or what they appeared to be once.

@SW-User True colors come flying through eventually. No one can wear a mask all the time.

@SW-User just don’t care in the first place, people take advantage of you here.

Exactly ! Best answer @Fairydust No matter what they say it’s always not good to care too much. You always get hurt at the end.

Caring for others is a job for people who think this world would be a lot better if people treated each other better.

This is so true

This refers to hating people online as well. It’s not healthy to care that much . @iamonfire696
