Just my opinion here on some COVID procedures.

I've read on here about some countries going back into lockdown, and I don't feel like that should be necessary at this point. Lockdowns were what we did at the beginning, when we didn't have the tools to fight the virus. Since we have the tools we need to fight the virus, I feel like lockdowns would be a step backwards, not forwards at this point.

I hope this doesn't raise too much controversy 😆.

According to the WHO, 7100 people are dying each day. I agree, lockdowns shouldn’t be necessary, but it might help… or maybe 7100 is an acceptable death rate - I don’t know.

@Jill1990 i believe i read there are somewher between 150-160 thousand deaths per day in the world. 7100 per day would put that in the top 3-5 causes of death. Not sure any preventable death is acceptable. We try to prevent the other causes so why wouldnt we try with this one.

@Jill1990 7100 people a day aren't dying from COVID19

@Jenna76 I agree with you completely - but there is a fight anytime anyone attempts to do anything.

@Jill1990 Don't confuse people dying with people getting covid from the new strain. Hospitalizations are down.

@ddlknaz Not sure of your point, you cant be saying that there are only 7100 cases of people getting covid per day?
Jill1990 · 31-35, F
@Jenna76 No - dying of covid, not getting it. That’s about 2.6 million per year.
Jenna76 · 41-45, F
@Jill1990 yes i know, was referring to the comment by @ddknaz above

@ddlknaz I’m not sure where you live, but here in the US, hospitals in many cities are well beyond capacity. People are spending days in the emergency room due to lack of beds.

@Jenna76 @Jill1990 I'm in Arizona US. Latest stats for the US are 160K per day are getting the newest Omicron variant. I admit Delta took it's toll and still is. The Omicron is less deadly and less hospitalizations as a result.
Anti-vaxers are not the enemy and I am not an anti-vaxer (for the record)... Instead I am building antibodies using different methods, at the advice of my doctor due to pre-existing conditions.
